Bose is known for making some of the best headphones in the business. But what you might not know is how different each pair is, and that’s why we’re here to help.
They offer nine distinct models that are all at the top of their class. So what do they all have in common? Each headset features solid build quality and the storied manufacturer’s signature understated design. The sound signature of all Bose headphones is especially impressive. Unlike many competitors that hide their sonic deficiencies behind powerful bass, Bose headphones deliver a stellar experience throughout the entire tonal range.
As far as additional accessories go, each Bose headset comes with a carrying case, so there’s no need to worry about storage. In-ear models come with replaceable tips for an optimal fit, while the wireless headphones come with an audio cable for the moments when the battery runs out. These are a few of our favorite headphones by Bose.
Bose QuietComfort 35 (Series II) Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones
The second generation of the range-topping Bose QuietComfort 35 wireless noise-canceling headphones brings integration with the excellent Google Assistant via a dedicated button. The latter also allows you to control the noise-canceling level — a welcome feature that was notably missing in the first generation.
As expected, the headphones also offer a superb fit, sleek design, a long battery life (up to 20 hours), the best noise cancellation in the business, and a finely tuned sound signature that makes them suitable for any type of content.
Reviewers from CNET and Tom’s Guide gave the QuietComfort 35 wireless headphones high marks for their noise-canceling tech, top-notch sound, and excellent ergonomics. They also noted the headset’s considerable price tag.
Bose SoundSport Free Truly Wireless Earbuds
The Bose SoundSport Free buds have a lightweight body with an IPX4 rating for water resistance, a seamless fit, and up to a stellar 5 hours of battery life. We like that they are available in a trio of cool colors — black, blue, and orange.
The bundled battery case provides an additional 10 hours of wireless tunes. Users can also connect the SoundSport Wireless to a mobile app and tweak their audio experience.
The SoundSport Free wireless earbuds impressed review editors from The Verge and Wired with their great sound and robust wireless connection. However, the testers also mentioned the headset’s unimpressive ambient noise isolation.
Bose SoundSport In-Ear Headphones
The Bose SoundSport in-ear headphones are designed with workout warriors in mind, offering superb fit and lightweight construction (they weigh a tad more than half an ounce). The earbuds are also sweat- and weather-resistant, so even outdoor adventures won’t cause them any harm.
Review editors from CNET and RTINGS.com liked the lightweight design, comfortable fit, and good sound of the SoundSport earbuds. However, they also noted that the headset’s noise isolation isn’t great.
You can order the Bose SoundSport earbuds with a choice of a one- or three-button remote, as well as no remote control. The iOS-friendly variant is also available in a multitude of eye-grabbing colors.
Bose SoundSport Wireless Earbuds
The workout-friendly Bose SoundSport Wireless earbuds have a lightweight body and a seamlessly comfortable fit. Users can connect the earphones to a mobile app and tweak their settings.
The headset is capable of delivering up to 6 hours of wireless tunes between battery charges. The earbuds come bundled with a handy carrying case with a built-in carabiner.
Bose Quietcontrol 30 Wireless Noise-Canceling Earbuds
The Bose Quietcontrol 30 wireless neckband earbuds set themselves apart from all competitors by offering adjustable noise cancellation via a button or a smartphone app. They can last for up to 10 hours before their battery needs recharging.
As expected from a Bose product, the headset also delivers a comfortable fit and a top-notch battery life (up to 10 hours), as well as the company’s signature sound quality. We only wish that its neckband were a bit more comfortable.
Bose SoundLink II Wireless Headphones
The SoundLink II are Bose’s range-topping wireless headphones, featuring over-ear design, superb wireless range, and up to a solid 15 hours of battery life on a single charge. NFC connectivity is also on board, allowing users to connect their favorite mobile device with a single tap.
Acoustically, the SoundLink II headphones sound just as one would expect from a high-end Bose product. The headset is available in black or white.
